Beauty describes things that can be holden. They are tangible, made things. The are incarnated ideas, b/c ideas have real life consequences. Beauty matters because, at the end of the day, that’s all that does matter. We have to live with these bloody consequences. God gave us reason so we could work through these ideas before making them, poetically. Goodness and Truth,,, Beauty exalts these two Others, makes Them realized in the here and now, not Joe’s “pie in the sky|in the bye and bye|when we die. ”He’s right, you know? that would be absurd. It would be the inherent violation of the efficacious form of the Good and Truthful. And Violence is not beautiful. Violence is the absence, nay, negation of Beauty; it is the shadow cast by Splendor that lengthens as dusk draws upon us. The chiaroscuro of man’s human(e) existence.

Can the aesthetic be divorced from the ethic? Or can Beauty embody the Truth of Life and the Way of Goodness without violation of that intended Logos.
